SyMRI is a post-processing software medical device intended for use in visualization of the brain. SyMRI analyzes input data from MR imaging systems. SyMRI utilizes data from a multi-delay, multi-echo acquisition (MDME) to generate parametric maps of R1, R2 relaxation rates, and proton density (PD). SyMRI can generate multiple image contrasts from the parametric maps. SyMRI enables post-acquisition image contrast adjustment. SyMRI is indicated for head imaging. Intended use: An individual software program or group of programs, routines or algorithms that add specific image processing and/or analysis capabilities to a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system configuration. A basic set of applications programs and routines are included with such computer-controlled imaging systems and they can be upgraded to correct programming errors or to add new system capabilities. Some applications software programs or program packages must be combined with specific hardware or firmware configurations in order to function as intended. Applications program packages are typically identified by a proprietary name and "version" or "upgrade" number.
Key tips
- ·Never bypass a radiation interlock to "just get the image" - this is one of the few true zero-tolerance rules in BMET work.
- ·Trend image-quality phantom results over time - drift shows up before an outright failure does.
- ·Portable/mobile units take real physical abuse from transport - check wheel locks and cable strain reliefs more often than fixed units.
