Xoran Technologies · Model MiniCAT 2020
Scan times range from 10-30 seconds and include protocols for pediatric patients. A high resolution, digitally versatile CT image is then immediately available on the computer monitor. The scanner creates CT slices as thin as 0.2 mm, with instant views of hundreds of image planes. This isotropic resolution and full range of data provides physicians the information they need to diagnose and treat patients.

Symptoms: Ring or band artefacts, excessive noise, HU non-uniformity, failed daily air/water calibration.
Root cause: Detector-channel drift or a bad detector module, a DAS fault, or air-cal / tube-output drift.
Symptoms: Tube-arc errors, exposure aborts, kV/mA faults, spits, or noisy bearing; tube pulls high heat units.
Root cause: Anode / bearing wear or vacuum degradation - the CT tube is a wear item.
Symptoms: Rotation faults, comms errors during rotation, brush dust, drive alarms.
Root cause: Worn slip-ring brushes, a drive-belt / bearing fault, or the data-transmission link.
Symptoms: Table drifts, will not index to the correct position, height or cradle errors.
Root cause: Table drive, encoder, or brake fault.
Symptoms: Recon hangs or is slow, images will not send to PACS, console errors.
Root cause: Recon-hardware or console-PC fault, or the network / storage.
Symptoms: Over-temperature warnings, exposures inhibited after a series, coolant alarm.
Root cause: Chiller pump / fan, low coolant, or a blocked heat exchanger.

Out of tolerance kVp, Unexposed (black) frames, and Out of tolerance Dose.
A description of the defect in the product or the manner in which the product fails to comply wvith an applicable Federal standard; The MiniCAT CT Scanners subject to this notification failed to meet Xoran's specifications for dose rate of 125 3 kVp. These 18 complaints received include dose rates both on the high and low end of Xoran's specifications. See ATTACHMENT 1 for details. (e) A n evalu
Failure of the gantry to rotate. The complaint alleged that the scanner would emit radiation but would not rotate.
The system may overheat, causing poor image quality, interruption in image acquisition and/or damage to the system. Also, if the system is not allowed to cycle down prior to being restarted after an emergency stop, the x-ray and gantry motions will both resume.
Misbranding; These devices do not bear the manufacturer's name or address.
The hard drive may crash, resulting in loss of data from patient CT scans.
