Toshiba · Model TSX- 003A
CT Scanner The TSX-003A by Toshiba provides patients with a unique and comprehensive exam. This scanner is one of the most advanced CT scanners on the market. With this scanner, you will be to reduce your diagnosis time down to just minutes.
Failure patterns typical of this equipment class - general BMET reference, not verified against this exact unit's own service history unless flagged. Severity is a category-level estimate.
Symptoms: Image noise, artifacts, low SNR.
Root cause: Flat-panel / sensor aging.
Symptoms: Tube temp alarm, duty-cycle limited.
Root cause: Pump/radiator or coolant loss.
Symptoms: Exposure fails, kV/mA out of range error.
Root cause: HV tank or generator board fault.
Symptoms: Frozen console, acquisition timeout.
Root cause: Workstation or RAID degradation.
The parts a BMET typically services on this class of equipment. Service class and relative cost are general engineering estimates for the category, not figures from this unit's documentation. Part numbers appear only when pulled from this unit's own service manual. Always confirm intervals and pricing against the manufacturer.
Major R&R; track mAs history.
| Part | Service class | Relative cost | R&R difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Workstation RAID / GPU | Periodic replacement | $$$ | Difficult |
| X-ray tube insert Major R&R; track mAs history. | Major service part | $$$$ | Expert-level |
| Flat-panel detector | Major service part | $$$$ | Expert-level |
| Cooling pump & radiator | Periodic replacement | $$$ | Difficult |
Relative cost: $ lowest · $$$$ highest service-part cost for this equipment class. Not a price.
Preventive-maintenance tasks typical of this equipment class. Perform to the manufacturer's procedure and your facility's policy - this is general reference, not a schedule for this specific unit.
A structured starting point derived from the failure modes above. Follow the manufacturer's service documentation for the actual procedure.
Where this class of equipment is typically deployed - general reference, not this unit's own placement record.

It has been found that if the scan range extends beyond the maximum Field of View (FOV), a reconstruction operation error may occur. As a result, scanning may be interrupted and rebooting of the system may be necessary. Please note that this issue has not occurred in the U.S.
Toshiba American Medical Systems, Inc. is recalling the TSX-035A because of a potential problem with the Aquilion Lightning CT System iStation cover falling off of the gantry.
If two specific operations are performed in multi-phase helical scanning, the acquired raw data may not be saved.
Potential problem with the cardiac function analysis software (CFA). Incorrect analysis results may be displayed in the Function Parameters for the Entire Heart displayed as analysis results of the CFA and in a Left-Ventricular Volume Curve generated based on some of those parameters.
Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. initiated this recall due to the failure of the parts used in the X-ray high-voltage generator. In some cases, X-ray exposure cannot be performed.
Toshiba intitiated this recall because their investigation revealed that due to a problem of the X-ray output control software, the X-ray output conditions may not be set correctly. As a result, X-ray exposure under the scan conditions used for contrast study may not start.
Due to a problem with the control software of the x-ray high-voltage generator, if scanning is performed with a tube current less than 30mA, the control software may detect an error and perform error processing even though the x-ray output is normal.
The recall was initiated because Toshiba has confirmed that their is a potential software issue for the TSX-301A Aquilon One and the TSX-301B Aquilon One.
The firm initiated this recall due to a potential software issue. The DLP (Dose Length Product) value may be displayed incorrectly when the vHP option is used.
Toshiba America Medical Systems is initiating a field correction on their TSX-301B: AQUILION Premium; System, X-Ray, Tomography, Computed, TSX-301A: AQUILION One; System, X-Ray, Tomography, Computed, TSX-20IA: AQUlLlON LB; System, X-Ray, Tomography, Computed, and TSX-1O1A: AQUILION 16; System, X-Ray, Tomography, Computed due to several software issues that cause the scanners to function incorr
Toshiba America Medical Systems (TAMS) is initiating a field correction for the TSX-301A and TSX-301B: Aquilion 64 System, X-Ray, Tomography because communication between reconstruction units in the system console may be broken due to failure of the optical conversion connector, resulting in a break of communication between units.
There is the potential that the current may not be controlled correctly in examinations using the ECG modulation function, which adjusts the x-ray output in synchronization with the ECG waveform.
Incorrect Dose Calculation. The software that performs the pre-scan dose calculation uses an incorrect parameter for an exam Plan using a tube voltage of 80kV or 100kV. This results in a pre-scan expected dose that is approximately 10% lower than what the displayed value should be when the scanner executes the exam Plan.
Toshiba America Medical Systems (TAMS) has found that communication may be cut off in the Aquilion ONE/ Premium Systems, owing to the failure of a part used in the console.
The recall was initiated by Toshiba America Medical Systems (TAMS) because the software associated with TSX-101A: Aquilion 64 can prevent scanning from being performed at the specified helical pitch (couch movement speed).
The SureStart function may not operate in the usual manner, and you may obtain abnormal analysis results when using the cerebral blood flow analysis function.
