Hand-Held Flexible Endoscope Leak Tester / Pressure Gauge with Silicone Tubing. Endoscopes should be leak tested before sterilization to avoid costly and damaging fluid invasion and to protect patients from potential cross-contamination. The hand-held leak tester / pressure gauge enables you to test for breaches throughout the scope by hand inflating the scope with pressure. You can “dry test” by observing the needle on the pressure gauge (the needle on intact scopes should not move), or “wet test” by immersing the pressurized scope in water and looking for leaks or bubbles from various points on the scope. Quick Tip: When immersion testing, always keep the scope pressurized by hand inflating the bulb on the tester. Negative pressure is created if the gauge gets to zero and will allow moisture to enter the scope
