• Can be supported by all Abiomed Console technology: AB5000™, BVS® 5000, BVS® 5000i, and BVS® 5000t • Off ers LVAD, RVAD, and BiVAD support • Dual-chamber design allows safe, complete ventricular decompression and continuous, passive, gravity assisted drainage of the heart • The BVS® 5000 Blood Pump connects with all Abiomed Cannulas to facilitate “closed chest transition” to the longer-term AB5000™ Ventricle • Design allows pulsatile flow providing both cardiac and systemic perfusion • Improved reimbursement for recovery Can be used in the following cases: • Donor heart dysfunction or donor heart failure after heart transplantation • Right-sided heart failure after placement of a left ventricular assist device • Acute heart attack • Acute heart disorders, such as viral myocarditis • Trauma to the heart • Disease of the heart muscle (cardiomyopathy) • In patients whose hearts have not recovered after temporary support, the BVS 5000 may be used as a bridge to another device or as a bridge to heart transplantation
